On Saturday, 14 Indian sailors who had been stranded in Yemen for more than 10 months since the ship sank in the Gulf of Aden left India by plane from Dubai. The Indian Embassy in Djibouti said in a statement that 14 sailors were apprehended by the local Houthi force in Yemen on 14 February 2020.
The statement stated that the Indian Embassy, ​​Djibouti, was successful in rescuing them on 28 November through its office in Sanaa after sustained and difficult efforts. According to the embassy, ​​the stranded Indians’ passports, other documents and their belongings were lost. He also appealed to all the maritime and other authorities to take cognizance of their situation and cooperate with them.

The Indian embassy in Dubai confirmed the arrival of these sailors. Chandrashekhar Bhatia of the Gulf Maharashtra Business Forum (GMBF) said Indian nationals flew to Mumbai from Dubai International Airport on Saturday night.
Bhatia has also shared a letter signed by Sunil Manjerkar, global chairman of GMBF, in which he thanked the government and officials who ensured the sailors’ release. Bhatia shared another note, in which the sailors claimed that they had not received salary for the last 10 months. He appealed to his Omani employer and the Indian Embassy in Oman to release the salaries of the sailors.
