Riyadh: 166 citizens and residents involved in crimes related to corruption were arrested in Saudi Arabia. The anti-corruption authority of the country stated that the people who worked in seven ministries were arrested. In April 2024, several criminal and administrative cases were investigated by the team under the authority.
1,790 tests were conducted. 268 accused from the ministries of Home, Defence, National Guard, Justice, Health, Municipal, Rural Affairs, Housing, Human Resource and Social Development were questioned. The authority also said that 66 citizens and residents were arrested according to criminal procedures.

Those arrested are involved in crimes like bribery, abuse of office influence, forgery and money laundering. Some were released on bail. The authority indicated that necessary legal proceedings against the arrested persons are being completed as part of preparation for referring them to the judiciary for legal proceedings.
