The President of the Abu Dhabi Labor Court, Counselor Abdullah Faris Al Nuaimi, explained that the court is competent to settle disputes that arise between workers and employers in the private sector, including government and semi-government companies and auxiliary service, noting that the court currently includes 24 judges in the levels of primary litigation and appeal And implementation, including eight citizen judges.
Al-Nuaimi said: “The court’s future outlook aims to open channels with charitable organizations in the country to contribute to workers obtaining their financial dues that cannot be collected.” For charitable and humanitarian works and other bodies, and all of them expressed their willingness to cooperate with this group and provide full support to the court, explaining that meetings are held with these bodies to provide powers and open programs to enter these cases, provided that they are approved by the court in the near future, indicating that there have been cases Humanitarian communication was made in a friendly manner with several charitable bodies, whether to provide travel tickets or provide health insurance as individual cases.
He pointed out that there is a decrease in the number of dismissal cases and labor complaints due to the emerging Corona virus pandemic, and the high levels of settlements in the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation, as the number of settlements during the year 2019 reached 6000 partial cases, and currently 3,200 in the same period, indicating that since the beginning of the pandemic For the first three months, there was a significant decrease in the number of complaints, thanks to the resolution of disputes and the settlement of settlements between employers and workers in a friendly manner. It is expected that after the end of the pandemic, the number of labor complaints will increase, but so far the number of complaints is less than last year in the same period.
For his part, the Vice President of the Abu Dhabi Labor Court, Counselor Ali Hassan Al-Hashemi, confirmed that after the activation of the mobile court in collective cases, the Abu Dhabi Labor Court was able to complete collective labor lawsuits, from the beginning of this year until the end of last July, for 32 thousand and 12 workers, while The labor dues that were disbursed amounted to 261 million 32 thousand and 440 dirhams, as the cases were terminated by moving to the workers ’accommodation through the mobile court, handing over checks through Emirates Post, and by transferring labor receivables through workers’ bank accounts, and transferring labor receivables through operating ATMs. In the country, and taking all legal measures, including counting workers’ financial dues, and issuing payment decisions for each worker’s entitlements separately, without the need to review the labor court’s headquarters, with making lists in coordination with the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation to issue ticket allowances for them and deport them from the state.
Al-Hashemi pointed out that the law regulated the process of determining the daily working hours for workers and vacations, and if the worker works a specific number of hours exceeding the hours stipulated by the law, so that he works on vacations and weekends and is able to prove that to the court, then it is decided by the court.
