Dubai: If you are about to fly in to Abu Dhabi, it is important to note the new guidelines that have been issued for international travellers. The guidelines were announced on December 22 and will be applicable from December 24, 2020.
Here is all you need to know about the PCR (polymerase chain reaction) test, quarantine and re-test requirements for travellers.
Before departure
International travellers will be required to present a negative PCR test result received within 96 hours of their scheduled departure.
Upon arrival
Passengers will then need to take a second PCR test upon entering the emirate.
Self-isolation requirements
Travellers from ‘green’ countries will be allowed into the emirate when they receive a negative test result. Travellers from other countries must self-isolate for 10 days. Country classifications will be reviewed every two weeks.
Re-test
All travellers must take a PCR test on day six of entry into Abu Dhabi for those staying for six consecutive days or more, and on day 12 for those staying for 12 consecutive days or more.

The ‘green’ list
According to the Abu Dhabi Media Office the list of ‘green’ countries will be reviewed every two weeks and will be updated on Abu Dhabi’s tourism website www.visitabudhabi.ae
The following countries have been included in the ‘green’ list in the update posted by the website on December 22:

• Greenland
• Hong Kong
• Malaysia
• Mauritius
• New Zealand
• Saudi Arabia
• Singapore
• Taiwan
• Tajikistan
• Thailand
• Uzbekistan
• Vietnam
