Gas shipments from ADNOC will be sent to Osaka, Japan, from the Ruwais LNG project in the Ruwais Industrial City in Al Dhafra, Abu Dhabi.
Japan’s Osaka Gas announced Tuesday that it has signed the main terms of the deal.for a long term agreementWith Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) to supply up to 0.8 million metric tons annually ofliquefied natural gas.
This represents the first long-term LNG deal between Osaka Gas and ADNOC, the Japanese company said in a statement, adding that the contract is expected to start in the late 2020s.
The shipments will be mainly sent from the Ruwais LNG project currently under development in the Ruwais Industrial City in Al Dhafra, Abu Dhabi. According to the statement, it is expected to start commercial operations in 2028 as the first clean energy LNG export facility in the Middle East and North Africa region.
The LNG will be shipped to Osaka Gas Ports and Osaka Gas Energy Supply and Trading (AUGST), its Singapore-based subsidiary.
The agreement stipulates that Osaka Gas and ADNOC will work together to conclude a detailed sale and purchase agreement in the coming months based on the terms of the sale and purchase agreement.
