Flights between the UAE and Saudi Arabia increased to 383 weekly flights, driven by increased demand for performing Umrah rituals.
Air traffic between the United Arab Emirates and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia witnessed a noticeable recovery during the holy month of Ramadan, as the number of flights increased by 13.3% last March compared to the month of February.
According to data published by the agency Emirates News “WAM” According to the General Authority of Civil Aviation, the number of flights between the two countries reached 383 weekly flights in March, compared to 338 flights in February.

This increase is due to the increased demand for performing Umrah rituals during the month of Ramadan, especially during the last ten days of the holy month.
Various airlines have increased the number of flights between the two countries to meet the increasing demand. Flydubai increased the number of its flights by 40%, while Etihad Airways increased the number of its flights by more than 22.2%. Emirates Airlines, Wizz Air Abu Dhabi, and Air Arabia also significantly increased the number of their flights.
Etihad Airways revealed that it transported about 45,000 passengers to its destinations in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia during the month of Ramadan and the Umrah season. Jeddah was the best choice for travelers among Etihad Airways destinations in the Kingdom, as flights to Jeddah achieved a passenger occupancy rate exceeding 95%.
