The amnesty announced for illegal residents in Kuwait has started today. The decision regarding this was announced by Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense and Acting Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahad Al Youssef Al Sabah. The amnesty period is from March 17 to June 17.

During the amnesty period, illegal residents can leave the country without penalty or punishment. Later they can return to the country on another visa. Those who wish to remain in Kuwait can validate their residency permit by paying a fine. This decision will benefit 1.2 lakh violators. The Ministry of Home Affairs has requested that they take advantage of this opportunity to leave the country with impunity or to legalize their stay by paying a fine. At the same time, there is a warning that law breakers who remain in the country even after the expiry of the amnesty will be arrested and deported with a lifetime ban on entry. The notification is that the inspection will be intensified from June 18 to find such people.
