Muscat: Oman’s Minister of Health Dr. Ahmed Al Saeedi said that a batch of the Pfizer vaccine will be available for use in Oman by the end of this month and indicated that the price is USD 30 per dose, and that each person needs two doses.
The Minister also brought attention to the side effects of the Pfizer vaccine which are typically pain where the vaccine is administered, headache and fever.
He said that the vaccine will be freely administered for those in the priority and vulnerable groups, namely the elderly over the age of 65, those with diabetes, those with kidney failure, those undergoing dialysis, those with chronic lung diseases, health workers in intensive care, and workers in the COVID-19 wards.

The undersecretary at the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism, Maitha Al Mahrouqi, said that there will be a guide of conduct to be followed by visitors when they visit the historical and tourism sites in Oman.
Visa exempt
Oman is exempting nationals from 103 countries from obtaining a visa for a period of ten days in Oman, which is expected to ease the flow of tourists to the Sultanate.
But it was also sternly brought to the notice that anyone overstaying beyond the allowed period will be fined for each day of their over stay, if the legal protocols and process are not complied with regarding the stay.
Al Saeedi also shared the news about the decline in the number of positive cases, deaths and patients in intensive care, due to the diligent awareness campaign and the adherence of general public to the same. The rate of positive testing in the whole of Oman is currently 4 per cent which at the initial stages was 26 per cent.
