A career full of giving for Sheikh Salem Al-Ali Al-Sabah

Sheikh Salem Al-Ali Al-Sabah was born in 1926 in the Al-Shuyukh neighborhood in the central area, currently the heart of Kuwait City. He received his primary education according to the traditions prevailing at that time, as he began his education in the Al-Khamis neighborhood at the hands of Mullah Hamada, then Mullah Murshid Muhammad Al-Sulaiman, before joining Al-Mubarakiya School, the first regular school in Kuwait, and then Al-Ahmadiyya School, where he learned literary and scientific subjects.

With the advent of oil in the 1950s, the late man joined the public service, participating in numerous projects to build and modernize Kuwait.

In the mid-fifties, he began his career working with Sheikh Fahad Al-Salem Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah, where he held the position of Deputy Chairman in the “Municipality and Public Works” departments.

In 1959, Sheikh Salem Al-Ali assumed the chairmanship of the “Construction Council”, where he planned development projects that contributed to the renaissance of Kuwait. He also headed the Public Works Department, which was responsible for implementing urban projects.

Sheikh Salem Al-Ali Al-Sabah, Minister of Public Works after independence

After independence Kuwait In 1961, Sheikh Salem Al-Ali participated in the “Constituent Assembly” that prepared the constitution, and held the position of Minister of Public Works in the first government after independence during the reign of Sheikh Abdullah Al-Salem Al-Sabah.

He continued in his position until 1964, and assumed the honorary presidency of the “Kuwait Society of Engineers” in 1963.

Establishment of the Kuwait National Guard

In 1967, Sheikh Salem Al-Ali established the “National Guard” and assumed its leadership, where he worked to enhance its role in protecting the country and supporting security and stability.

He has also participated in the Supreme Defense Council since 1969, and the National Security Council since 2005.

Community contributions of the late Sheikh Salem Al-Ali Al-Sabah

In addition to his official duties, Sheikh Salem Al-Ali Al-Sabah had many community and charitable contributions inside and outside Kuwait, including donating large sums of money to help the needy and the families of martyrs.

He also established the “Sheikh Salem Al Ali Informatics Competition” in 2000 to support culture and knowledge in the field of information technology.

The deceased had a great passion for nature and the desert, as he was interested in hunting trips and marine hobbies. He was also fond of camels and owning the best types of them.
