A motorist has been arrested after his vehicle crashed into a petrol pump in Sharjah. The accident was reported on Al Ittihad Road near Al Khan Bridge.
Speaking to Khaleej Times, Major-General Saif Al Zari Al Shamsi, Commander-in-Chief of the Sharjah Police, confirmed the arrest.
According to eyewitnesses, two employees sustained minor injuries in the accident.
CCTV footages of the incident show the car hitting a shelf before crashing into a fuel dispenser machine and a payment kiosk. Two employees can be seen scampering to safety as the car veers into the petrol pump.
The accident was reported last week.
