Many doctors feel it is now all the more important to be extra cautious, practice social distancing and good self-hygiene.

Doctors in Dubai are urging citizens to be more cautious as the city begins to be back to business.

Dr Geoffrey Zachariah, GP at Prime Medical Centre, said: “The latest slogan of the government during this re-opening phase of the COVID-19 crisis is that everyone should be responsible. Which means that each and every person needs to maintain strict precautionary and safety measure.”

Six things to remember when stepping out

  1. Make sure to cover your face with mask
  2. As soon as the mask is damp, replace it with a new one (or use a mask for a maximum of 6 hours)
  3. Always keep and use alcohol-based sanitisers regularly
  4. When you cough or sneeze, ensure your mouth and nose are covered
  5. Even if you’re wearing gloves, refrain from unnecessary touching of surfaces
  6. Wash your hands frequently or sanitise your hands after removing your gloves
