Dubai: We often hear news of illegal and prohibited items, including drugs and gold, being seized during airport checks. But a snake, a monkey’s hand and a dead bird were seized from the bag of a passenger traveling through Dubai International Airport.
These were caught during the inspection conducted by Dubai Customs. It is believed that these were smuggled in for use in magic rituals. The officers who got suspicious after seeing the passenger’s bag were conducting a detailed inspection.

On inspection, they were found packed in a plastic box. Apart from a live snake, a monkey’s hand and a dead bird, various objects believed to be used for witchcraft, including wrapped eggs and ales, were also found in his bag.
The seized items were handed over to Dubai Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department for further testing. Khalid Ahmad, Senior Manager, Passenger Operations Department, Terminal One, said that Dubai Customs continues to fight against all forms of smuggling. He said that vigilance will continue.
