The Roads and Transport Authority has announced that there will be four main road corridors built in Dubai by the end of 2024.
It is an expansion of the RTA’s existing traffic incident management unit project aimed at minimising accidents on roads, enhancing traffic flow and clearing vehicles involved in accidents quickly.
Once completed the project will mean that there will be 17 traffic corridors in the city which allow incident management vehicles to get around the city.

Dubai’s roads can be tricky to navigate at the best of times so it should be welcome news for motorists as it allows greater access for rapid response vehicles.

The new main corridors will mean Ras Al Khor Street, Umm Suqeim Street, Expo Road and Hessa Street all have better coverage by the end of the year.
These locations have been chosen for the deployment of rapid response vehicles on major highways and critical roads to make sure the vehicles actually respond, well, rapidly.
The project is being carried out with assistance from Dubai Police, Dubai Municipality, Dubai Traffic Prosecution, General Directorate of Dubai Civil Defence and Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services.
Response times should be around 10 minutes when an incident occurs with a clearance time of 15 minutes for accidents.
In the past year, the RTA has credited the traffic incident management unit project with a 6.5 percent drop in injuries and fatalities from 2022.
