A revolutionary, fully automated, and hassle-free parking system is now in operation in select areas of Dubai, offering a seamless experience for motorists.
With no waiting, no tickets, and no manual payments, the new parking solution has been implemented in locations such as the East Crescent of the Palm Jumeirah, promising a modernized way of parking.
How the New System Works
The innovative parking system utilizes advanced sensors and on-ground cameras to detect vehicles automatically as they arrive and park. These devices capture the vehicle’s license plate, enabling the system to register the parking time and calculate the required fees without any manual intervention. Parking has been made barrier-free, ticketless, and entirely automated, creating a seamless experience for drivers.
Instead of searching for a parking meter or interacting with an app, drivers can simply park their vehicle, and the system takes care of the rest. The cameras capture both the front and rear license plates of vehicles, ensuring accuracy and eliminating the risk of losing parking tickets or waiting in long queues at payment machines.
Fees and Payment Methods
At the East Crescent of Palm Jumeirah, parking fees are set at Dh10 per hour, with parking available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. In addition to the convenience of automatic payment, Parkonic, the private company behind this technology, has ensured multiple payment options for motorists. Payment can be made online via the Parkonic website or through a QR code. Alternatively, payments can also be made at on-site booths using cash or credit cards.
For inquiries, Parkonic provides a dedicated customer service hotline at 800-Parkonic (800-72756642) or via email at helpdesk@parkonic.com.
Expanding the Barrier-free Concept
Parkonic is not stopping at the Palm Jumeirah. The company has also launched a similar AI-powered, barrier-free parking system at Dubai Harbour, in partnership with Salik, Dubai’s toll gate operator. This fully automated system allows drivers to enter, park, and exit with no tickets. The cameras capture the license plate, and parking fees are automatically deducted from the driver’s Salik account, offering the same seamless experience implemented at Dubai Mall since last year. Additionally, multiple payment methods are supported, including QR codes, SMS, mobile apps, and kiosks.
UAE-wide Expansion
Parkonic’s innovative parking solutions are set to expand even further, with new locations across the UAE. In a recent announcement, Parkonic revealed plans to implement its parking technology at various UnionCoop locations across the country. These include stores in Al Aweer, Al Warqa, Nad Al Hamar, and many more. With more than 135,000 parking spaces under management, the company is transforming parking experiences nationwide.
In a continued effort to promote the convenience of automated parking, Parkonic has signed a five-year agreement with Salik. This agreement ensures that Salik remains the preferred payment channel for Parkonic customers, reinforcing the move towards a fully integrated, digital-first parking experience.
Parkonic currently operates in high-demand locations such as Global Village, The Beach – JBR, Central Park in Dubai, and several venues across Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, and Fujairah. As technology continues to evolve, it’s clear that the future of parking in the UAE is ticketless, automated, and customer-friendly.
