His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense, and Chairman of the Dubai Executive Council, emphasized that young people are the pioneers and shapers of the future, with their awareness, optimism, and openness to the world.

He also emphasized that with their knowledge, expertise, research, and creative contributions, they are the drivers of collaborative development. Under the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, Dubai continues to invest in empowering young people with knowledge and skills, and providing them with the best levels of knowledge, academic education, practical training, and scientific research, so that they can always be ambassadors of knowledge and science.

Main objectives of the student visa system

The new changes aim to make Dubai an attractive destination for outstanding students from around the world, through:

  • Attracting 50% of the total student body in Dubai universities to be international students by 2033.
  • Doubling the number of international university branches in Dubai from 37 to approximately 70.
  • Ensuring that 90% of students find job opportunities appropriate to their specializations.
  • Enhancing the higher education sector’s contribution to Dubai’s GDP by approximately AED 5.6 billion.

Key initiatives to support student visas

These changes include several initiatives to support the student visa system and attract top international universities:

Higher Education Investment Fund and Dubai Research Network: Supporting innovation and scientific research.

Improvements to student visa regulations: Student visa procedures will be streamlined and improved to attract more talent.

Providing new international scholarships: to enable outstanding students to study in Dubai.

Graduate Work Visas: To facilitate students’ transition into the job market after graduation.

Strategies to attract prestigious universities: including 11 higher education institutions ranked among the top 200 universities globally by 2033.

Promoting influential university clusters: to create a stimulating educational and research environment.

Regulatory frameworks for quality assurance: to ensure a high standard of education in all institutions.
