Dubai Metro stations were also flooded

Abu Dhabi: Due to heavy rain, water entered the metro stations in Dubai. Al Nahda and On Passive Metro stations were flooded due to the rains of the previous day. The inundation caused significant disruption to services.

The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) issued a statement to inform Dubai Metro users about the service disruption at the On Passive Metro station on the Red Line. It has been informed that alternative bus services have been arranged to ply the passengers between rain affected stations. Videos of people walking out of the station in ankle-deep water are circulating on social media.

Meanwhile, there was heavy rain in Oman and UAE. The rain warning has also been changed. The red alert announced earlier in the UAE has been withdrawn. Instead of red alert, orange alert and yellow alert have been announced at various places. Heavy rain will continue and caution is advised. Orange alert has been announced in Al Ain, Fujairah and Korfakan areas. A yellow alert has also been announced in the Dubai region.

It is advised not to leave the house. Due to the heavy rain, work from home has been allowed in Dubai tomorrow. Schools are closed. It has been instructed to provide work from home if necessary in the private sector as well.
