Abu Dhabi: Heavy rain in UAE. The rain is accompanied by strong winds. Heavy rain fell in many parts of the UAE last night. Apart from rain with thunder and lightning, hail also occurred at some places.
Due to continued heavy rains, waterlogged roads have formed in many parts. Bad weather continues. The rain started in Al Ain yesterday and later spread to other parts of the country. Roads were flooded and traffic was disrupted.

Following the rain, parks and mountain roads were closed, including in Abu Dhabi and Sharjah. Beaches are also closed. Fireworks have been suspended at the Global Village. Abu Dhabi temple was also restricted. Flight passengers are also advised to be cautious. The Ministry of Labor has suggested that work from home should be allowed in the private sector if necessary. The weather warning is that heavy rain will continue till Sunday. The authorities have warned everyone to stay at home and avoid travel except for emergencies.
A road in Ras Al Khaimah was hit by a landslide following heavy rains. The landslide occurred on the way from Al Shuhada Street to Emirates Road. Dubai RTA has issued a warning to motorists heading to Sharjah. The notice issued at 10.55 am said that there is heavy traffic congestion in that direction and drivers should take Bayreuth Street and Emirates Road.
Rainfall is heavy in the western emirates. Orange alert in Al Ain and Nahil areas and Yellow alert in the rest of the areas. There is heavy rain and wind in Al Dafra and Al Ain. Heavy rain will also occur in Dubai, Sharjah and Ajman. Fujairah and Ras Al Khaimah are under rain alert. Parks were closed in various areas. Mountain roads are closed. No access to wadis and near dam. Beaches will also be closed. The weather warning is that heavy rain will continue till Sunday.
Due to adverse weather conditions, Dubai Police has issued a warning message through mobile phones. Police warned motorists to be careful in the rain. There is a high risk of accidents due to standing water on the roads. The Meteorological Center had repeatedly warned that there is a possibility of rain the previous day. Online study guide was not needed as schools are on holiday today.
