announced Flydubai Today, Emirates announced the resumption of direct flights to the Syrian capital, Damascus, starting June 1, 2025. The carrier will operate daily flights to Damascus International Airport from Terminal 2 at Dubai International Airport.
Damascus was one of flydubai’s first destinations, having commenced operations nearly 16 years ago on June 8, 2009. flydubai’s decision to resume flights to Damascus follows the UAE’s General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) announcing the resumption of flights between the two countries in April of this year.
Commenting on the resumption of flights to Syria, Ghaith Al Ghaith, Chief Executive Officer of flydubai, said: “We are delighted to be the first UAE airline to resume flights to Syria after a 12-year hiatus. Damascus holds special cultural and historical significance in the region, and we are proud to once again serve this city with a direct daily flight, reflecting our commitment to supporting the UAE’s efforts to enhance regional connectivity.”

Flights to Damascus International Airport (DMM) will operate daily from Terminal 2 at Dubai International Airport starting from 1 June 2025.
Business class return tickets from Dubai International Airport to Damascus International Airport start at AED 10,000, while basic economy class fares start at AED 2,000.
