    This decision of the central government is going to give a huge relief to GST taxpayers. Prior to this, the Central Government has already started the service of filing GSTR-3B Nil Returns through SMS from 8 June 2020. Overall, we have taken effective and decisive steps to facilitate the taxpayers in times of crisis and we will continue this process in the future.

    Till now, taxpayers were required to log in to their account on the portal to fill their returns and supply details in Form GSTR-1 every month or every quarter, but the medium of SMS would facilitate their process. This step of filing Form GSTR-1 through SMS will improve GST compliance for over 12 lakh registered taxpayers and they can now focus on their business and not worry about filing returns and statements .
