IGI Airport Customs arrested an airline worker who assisted the gold smuggler. The smuggler used to bring gold from abroad by hiding in the aircraft toilet. After this, the accused used to save the gold from the eyes of the custom and throw it out of the airport.

A senior airport customs official said that on 23 November, Etihad Airlines flight from Abu Dhabi arrived at Terminal-3. A suspected Indian descended from it was stopped by the custom. Upon investigation, he could not find anything. So, strictly questioned, he told that he had brought 1480 grams of gold paste with him. He has hidden two packets of paste in the aircraft toilet.

The packet was later searched, but was not found in the plane. Meanwhile, a person from Air India sets was seen taking the said packet out of the airport. After which he was caught by custom. Two gold biscuits were also found in the packet along with gold paste.
