Muscat: ICF Oman is planning to provide free tickets to expatriates who are struggling to pay for their return tickets. Tickets are issued on merit basis only. Those who are unable to travel due to financial hardship can contact the local components of ICF to get a free ticket.
Expatriates who have not been able to see their families for a long time due to lack of financial conditions to go home, those who find work in distress and are unable to return home, and the poor who return home sick will be eligible for the ticket. The ICF Oman National Committee said that after studying the circumstances of the applicants in detail, the tickets will be given to those who are fully eligible.

First ticket delivered
ICF Oman National Committee has handed over the first ticket under the free ticket scheme for expatriates. The officials of ICF Salala Central handed over a ticket to a native of Pathanamthitta who was unable to go home due to a work-related crisis in Salala for six years.
The sad stories of this expatriate friend were brought to the attention of the ICF by the church authorities. After the ICF’s announcement that free tickets will be given to expatriates who are having trouble leaving the country without money for the ticket, hundreds of people have contacted the ICF officials from the unit component within seconds, the National Committee stated.
National officials said that it is clear that there are many people in the diaspora world who are suffering due to not being able to go to the country even because they do not have a small ticket amount, and all the inquiries received by the ICF are being examined and they will give tickets to anyone who is convinced that they are eligible, but they will ensure that this facility is not exploited.
