The decision was based on Article (21 bis A) of the Nationality Law, which stipulates the withdrawal of nationality in certain cases, to be published in Official Gazette.
The article stipulates that Kuwaiti citizenship may be withdrawn if it is proven that the person obtained it illegally, such as if he provided false information or forged documents to obtain it, or if he acquired it through a person who obtained it illegally.
