Riyadh: Saudi Arabia became a member of the International Transport Forum (ITF) Council. This is in connection with the International Transport Forum held in the German city of Leipzig. The Minister of Transport and Logistics, Engr. Saleh bin Nasser Aljazer, said that this membership reflects Saudi Arabia’s commitment to tackling transport challenges by finding innovative and sustainable solutions.
This is a testament to Saudi’s role in developing a future-oriented transport and logistics services sector at a high global level. Saudi Arabia’s success in ITF membership confirms its position in the global transport sector. The Transport Minister also said that it will help contribute to legislation and regulations that will help improve and develop transport at the international level.

The International Transport Forum (ITF) Council was established in 2006 in Paris, the French capital, with a membership of 66 countries. It is the only organization that covers all modes of transportation globally. It aims to set standards and rules for international transport policies and to enhance the role of transport in economic growth and environmental sustainability.
