Minneapolis: On Thursday, Minnesota’s governor called in the National Guard to help police restore order after two days of violent protests over the death of a black man in Minneapolis city. As seen in video footage the man was gasping for breath while a white officer knelt on his neck.
Governor Tim Walz deployed Guard troops to help police as local, state and federal law enforcement officials sought to deal with racial tensions started on Monday night’s arrest of George Floyd, 46, who wanted justice in the case.
Four city police officers were involved in the unfortunate incident were fired from their jobs the next day.
