Oman: Working hours in public and private schools have been reduced

Muscat: Working hours of students studying in public and private schools in Muscat Governorate have been reduced due to unstable weather conditions. Today (March 5) Tuesday, the schools will function only till 12 noon.

A statement issued by the Muscat Directorate of Education said that evening classes in the governorate will be suspended. Also, the Ministry of Education has announced that classes have been suspended in North Al Bathinah, Al Buraimi and Al Dahira today due to low pressure (March 5).

Meanwhile, as part of the low pressure, the Civil Aviation Authority had informed that there is a possibility of heavy rain in most of the governorates of Oman from Monday. It is also reported that there will be strong winds and thunder along with the rain.

10 to 50 mm of rain is possible on Tuesday. Wind speed will be 27 to 46 km per hour. Waves may reach two to three meters in the western areas of Musandam Governorate and the coasts of the Arabian Sea. Strong winds can also cause dust to rise in desert and open areas. The authority has informed that in view of the rain warning, the ship passengers should not land in the valleys and check the visibility and sea conditions.
