RAK ruler receives condolences after royal dies in bike crash

Sheikh Saqr bin Tariq Al Qasimi died in an accident in the residential neighbourhood of Al Dhait on Saturday

Ras Al Khaimah ruler Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi on Sunday received condolences on the death of Sheikh Saqr bin Tariq bin Kayed Al Qasimi, who died in a motorcycle crash on Saturday.

Condolences were received from Dr Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Ruler of Sharjah, and Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Ruler of Ajman.

He also received condolences at Khuzam Palace from Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman, Sheikhs, state officials and citizens.

Sheikh Saqr bin Tariq Al Qasimi, a member of the Ras Al Khaimah royal family, died in an accident at about 12.30am in the residential neighbourhood of Al Dhait, RAK Police said.

He was a first lieutenant with the force and had a keen interest in the martial art of Jiu-Jitsu.

“The UAE Federation of Jiu-Jitsu mourns the death of Sheikh Saqr bin Tariq bin Kayed Al Qasimi with grief and sorrow, asking Allah the Almighty to grant him mercy and rest his soul in Paradise,” a tweet from the federation read.
