Saudi Airlines’ deal with Airbus to purchase 105 aircraft comes within the framework of the Kingdom’s strategy aimed at developing the aviation and tourism sector.

Saudi Airlines announced the conclusion of a historic deal to purchase 105 narrow-body aircraft from Airbus, during the Future of Aviation conference held in Riyadh.

According to Bloomberg, this deal, which is the largest in the company’s eight-decade history, includes 93 A321neo aircraft and 12 A320neo aircraft.

Despite the size of this record deal, Saudi Airlines’ ambitions were beyond this number, as the company’s official spokesman, Abdullah Al-Shahrani, indicated that the company was seeking to acquire more than 180 aircraft, but production restrictions prevented this.

Deliveries of the new aircraft are expected to begin in 2026, with 88 aircraft to be delivered over the next five years.

This step comes within the framework of the Kingdom’s strategy aimed at strengthening the aviation and tourism sector, as it invests billions of dollars in developing infrastructure and improving services.

Approximately half of the order is scheduled to be allocated to the group’s low-cost flights company, “Airadeal.”
