Saudi Arabia arrests 2,500 labor law violators in a week

The Saudi Ministry of Interior confirmed that anyone who helps violators of the Kingdom’s border security system exposes himself to penalties of up to 15 years in prison and a fine of up to one million riyals.

It resulted in Joint field campaigns To follow up and arrest violators of residency, work and border security regulations, which took place in all regions of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, about arresting 2,500 violators For work system, for the period from 11 to 17 July.

The results of the joint field campaigns were distributed as follows:

  • The total number of violators caught in the joint security field campaigns in all regions of the Kingdom amounted to (19,817) violators, including (12,436) violators of the residency system , (4,881) violators of the border security system, and (2,500) violators of the labor system.
  • The total number of people who were arrested while trying to cross the border into the Kingdom was (1389) people (45%) of whom were Yemeni, (53%) Ethiopian, and (02%) other nationalities. In addition, (48) people were arrested for trying to cross the border out of the Kingdom in an irregular manner.
  • (9) persons involved in transporting, sheltering, employing and covering up for violators of residency, work and border security regulations were arrested.
  • The total number of those currently subject to the implementation procedures of the regulations is (17,067) violating expatriates, including (15,394) men and (1,673) women.
  • (7,139) violators were referred to their diplomatic missions to obtain travel documents, (4,242) violators were referred to complete their travel reservations, and (14,471) violators were deported.

She explained that this crime is considered a major crime that requires arrest, and is a violation of honor and trust.
