The Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources in the Kingdom aims to exploit mineral resources worth 9.4 trillion riyals in more than 5,300 locations, to strengthen the national economy.

The Ministry’s official spokesman, Jarrah bin Mohammed Al-Jarrah, explained in a press statement that the allocation included two complexes: the East Gulf Sand Ore Complex and the North Shaqiqa Sand Ore Complex, which are located in Bisha Governorate, with areas of 8.54 and 13.36 square kilometers, respectively.

Al-Jarrah pointed out that the ministry’s goal in allocating these complexes is to increase investments in the mining sector and attract companies interested in this field, in addition to protecting and preserving the mining complexes from irregular violations in accordance with the mining investment system.

This step comes within the Ministry’s strategy to maximize the value of the mining sector in the Kingdom, which constitutes the third pillar of the national industry. The Ministry aims to exploit the mineral resources available in the Kingdom, which are located in more than 5,300 locations, and whose value is estimated at about 9.4 trillion riyals.
