The General Directorate of Passports asked Saudi citizens to ensure several matters well before traveling abroad

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia announced on Monday the minimum For passport validity For those wishing to travel outside the country.

According to the Saudi News Agency “Was”, The General Directorate of Passports said that the minimum validity of a passport for citizens wishing to travel outside the Kingdom is:

  • Three months if traveling to an Arab country.
  • Six months if traveling to other countries.
  • The Family Registry Card is not a travel document.

The General Directorate of Passports asked Saudi citizens to ensure several things before traveling abroad in sufficient time, and these matters are:

  • Verify the validity period of the passport.
  • Urgently renew or obtain new passports for themselves or their dependents well before the travel date.
  • Benefit from the electronic services provided through the “Absher” platform to issue or renew it and receive it via the postal carrier

You must carry a valid passport

The General Directorate of Passports in Saudi Arabia stressed that when traveling to the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, it is necessary to carry a valid passport or national identity.

While the General Directorate of Passports in Saudi Arabia confirmed that the digital national identity through the “Tawakkalna” and “Absher” platforms does not entitle its owner to do so.
