Widespread surveillance has also been launched to nab the promoters of fake and misleading Hajj campaigns. Some of the people who gave fake Hajj advertisements have already been caught by the police. The Ministry of Home Affairs has recently announced that the penalty for those who violate the law, including coming to perform Hajj without permission, will be implemented from 25th of Dhul-Qa’ad to 14th of Dhul-Hajj next year.

During these days of Hajj, no Umrah permit will be granted to anyone except those who have a Hajj permit. A fine of 10,000 riyals will be imposed on those caught without a Hajj permit at Makkah, Central Region, Holy Places, Haramain Train Station in Ruzaifa, Security Control Centers, Sorting Centers and Temporary Security Control Centers. And if they are foreigners, the punishment will be deportation and ban on re-entry to Saudi Arabia. Repeat violation will double the fine.
