Sharjah-Surat flight of Air India Express collided with a truck while landing. The plane landed with 150 passengers was parked on the apron when it hit the dumper truck.
The left wing of the aircraft was damaged in the accident. The incident took place last Wednesday at 10.30 pm. The incident occurred when the VT-ATJ Airbus 320-251N flight from Sharjah landed at the airport. The truck was moving in the area while the new apron was being constructed. After landing the aircraft turned left from the runway onto the apron. When the plane turned left again, it hit the truck.
Airport Director-in-Charge SC Bhalse said that the plane was parked following the accident and the Directorate General of Civil Aviation has started an investigation into the incident, The Times of India reported. Sources said that all the passengers were brought out of the plane safely. Only after investigation can we find out who is responsible for the incident. Only later will it be known who is responsible for the accident, be it the construction work contractors, the airport staff or the pilot.

Delhi: Air India sacked employees who hesitated to retire. Air India has sacked more than 180 employees who did not cooperate with Air India’s plans, including voluntary retirement schemes and re-skilling opportunities. Air India took action last week.
Tata had taken over Air India which was in loss since January 2022. This move comes amid efforts to streamline Air India’s business. An Air India spokesperson told the news agency that a comprehensive process has been followed for the last 18 months to evaluate all employees.

Employees who could not take advantage of VRS or re-skilling opportunities had to leave, the spokesperson said. However, PTI reports that more than 180 employees have been dismissed, although the spokesperson did not say how many people were dismissed. After Tata Group took over the airline, the company has introduced two rounds of voluntary retirement scheme to the employees.
