On Friday, the UAE sent an aircraft carrying 11 metric tonnes of medical items and supplies to Sudan to support the country’s efforts to contain the spread of Coronavirus infection.
The aid will help nearly 11,000 medical professionals like doctors and nurses as they work to fight against the virus.
Commenting on the delivery of aid supplies, UAE Ambassador Hamad Mohammed Humaid Al Jneibi said to Sudan, “The UAE stands with Sudan as it fights with one of the most challenging global pandemic to maintain public health and security. The delivery of aid, suggests our concrete focus that the front-line healthcare professionals of Sudan will be better supported and equipped to fight the Covid-19 pandemic.”
