The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has barred Sudanese planes from landing at its airports. Apart from this, a Sudanese plane was not allowed to take off at Abu Dhabi Airport. This information has been given by Sudan’s state news agency and Civil Aviation Authority.
Sudan’s reaction
Sudan has expressed surprise at this decision. Now Sudan’s aviation agencies are re-arranging the bookings of passengers who were traveling to and from the UAE.
Sourness in relations
In May 2025, Sudan broke its diplomatic relations with the UAE. Sudan alleges that the UAE is supplying weapons to the Rapid Support Forces (RSF). The RSF is involved in the ongoing civil war against the Sudanese army, which has been going on since April 2023. But the UAE has repeatedly denied these allegations.
