Ticket prices will start from £2.99, and the 46-seater bus includes USB charging points, free Wi-Fi and a toilet.

The emission-free car will save 352 kilograms of carbon emissions per day compared to its diesel-powered counterparts, which is equivalent to reducing more than 21 tons of carbon dioxide.

One journey made by the new bus is equivalent to removing up to 17,950 car journeys from English and Welsh roads every day.

The experiment will be conducted on a network Long distance buses In the United Kingdom affiliate For Flix Bus, based in Munich, together with its operating partner Newport Transport.

The electric vehicle has a battery capacity of 282 kWh and will be charged at Transport for the UK, formerly known as Abellio, the bus depot in Battersea, London, and at Newport Transport’s headquarters in South Wales.

Parent company Flix operates in 43 countries across 4 continents. It has trialled electric vehicles in several markets including the United States and Europe.
