The Friends of the Adamstown Area Library recently presented their annual contribution of $25,000 to Library Director, Carolyn Reiste. The Friends also make additional donations throughout the year as requested by the library. Through their fundraisers, the Friends are able to make a difference by adding to the libraries collections and children and adults programs. The Friends credit the success of their events to the volunteers who give their time and the public who attend.
Check out the library in February to purchase a Valentine Bag of Romance during the “Glance at Romance” fundraiser. Coming up in March is the popular Basket Bingo. It will be held at the Reamstown Fire Company on Sunday, March 15. There is a cost for tickets, which can be purchased at the library or from any member of the Friends. This popular fundraiser is always a sold out affair, so you’ll want to get your tickets early. Wednesday, May 6 through Saturday, May 9 is the Annual Used Book Sale at Peace Church in Swartzville. Everyone finds great bargains at the book sale. The “Bucks for Books” Dinner and Auction, which takes place on Saturday, November 14, will be held at Foxchase Golf Club.
