Dubai: The passengers of the Air India flight that left for Dubai yesterday are in limbo. The flight that left Kozhikode at 8 pm failed to land in Dubai and returned to Karipur.

The flight landed at Muscat airport last night and reached Karipur in the morning. There are about 180 passengers on board. Air India has announced that it will provide facilities to bring the passengers to Ras Al Khaimah. Air India officials have also informed that they are ready to give refund.

Due to heavy rains, 1,244 flights were canceled and 41 were diverted in two days due to flooding of the runway, the Dubai airport authorities said. This was reported by Khaleej Times quoting the airport spokesperson.

The heaviest rainfall in the UAE in 75 years. Efforts are on to clear the waterlogged roads. The damage is huge. There are cars all over the country that have been submerged in water. There are many flooded shops. Meanwhile, more stations of Dubai Metro are back to normal. The UAE Meteorological Center has stated that no cloud seeding has been done for rain. UAE relies on cloud seeding for rain clouds. But the explanation is that cloud seeding is not the reason for the recent rains.
