The official operation of the first air taxi service station in Dubai will be during the first quarter of 2026.

Al-Awadhi expected that the first air taxi station in Dubai would be officially operational during the first quarter of 2026, noting that the project, in its first phase, would initially include the launch of 4 stations.

The General Manager of the Middle East region at Joby Aviation added that the taxi service is an electric aircraft:

  • It can carry 4 passengers, and a pilot.
  • Its speed reaches 320 km/h, and its range reaches 160 km.
  •  It operates smoothly and quietly compared to conventional helicopters.
  •  It produces a sound of no more than 45 decibels, which is less than the sound of rain.

He pointed out that the new service will contribute to alleviating traffic congestion in Dubai, expecting it to reduce the time required to travel from Dubai International Airport to Palm Jumeirah to between 10 and 12 minutes only, compared to about 45 minutes by traditional means of transportation during peak times.
