Apple concludes a deal to introduce artificial intelligence (GPT) chat into iPhones

In a note to clients on Monday, Wed brush analyst Daniel Ives notes, “We should expect exclusives around a number of advanced Open AI features on iPhone that Apple will build around a broader AI strategy on iPhone 16 and iOS.”

Last May, Apple CEO Tim Cook expressed cautious optimism about the spread of artificial intelligence services hitting the market, noting that “there are a number of issues that need to be resolved.”

“It’s clear that we’ve made tremendous progress, integrating AI and machine learning throughout our ecosystem, and we’ve woven it into products and features for many years,” Cook said.

News of the possibility of adding Chat GPT to iOS 18 comes ahead of Apple’s annual Worldwide Developers Conference next month, where artificial intelligence is expected to be a major focus of the event.
