To combat the effects of rainwater accumulation in urban areas, the Bahraini Crown Prince launched a series of government initiatives to compensate residents of affected neighborhoods.

In addition, the Crown Prince ordered that the areas that witnessed rainwater accumulation be identified and subjected to infrastructure development programmes. Water drainage networks will be strengthened and the necessary systems will be improved to address the problems of water bodies in these areas, while ensuring that these programs are integrated and effective in dealing with problems related to water drainage.

He also praised the efforts made by the relevant ministries and concerned authorities in dealing with rainwater accumulations.

It is noteworthy that the huge amount of rain that fell on Bahrain in just one hour, amounting to 67 mm, achieved a record in the history of Bahrain for the amount of precipitation in one hour.

The rain also continued to fall heavily, with the amount of precipitation reaching about 40 mm, bringing the total amount of precipitation to about 107 mm in just two hours. This is a Bahraini record, as it is equivalent to the amount of rain expected within a year and a half of time, as the usual annual average of rain in the Kingdom is 71 mm according to meteorological data.

According to meteorology, this huge amount of rain was accompanied by strong winds, reaching speeds of 40 knots (80 km/h), which increases its impact in an uncontrollable way, despite the measures and preparations taken by the concerned authorities in the country at all times. Fronts.
