Berlin: On Tuesday, Chancellor Angela Merkel’s government said – Germany has extended social distancing rules to prevent the spread of the coronavirus epidemic to June 29.
According to the rules agreed by the federal government and 16 states – only up to 10 people will be allowed to gather in public areas but Germans should adhere to social distancing rules.
Germany’s virus cases now stand at 179,000 with over 8,300 deaths – a much lower number than other European countries such as Britain, Spain, France, and Italy.
However, officials gave a warning that further extensions of restrictions and new rules could be imposed if local outbreaks happen.
