Total coronavirus cases in India reach 151,767.
New Delhi: The death toll due to COVID-19 increased to 4,337 and the total number of confirmed cases climbed to 151,767 in India, accounting for an increase of 170 deaths and 6,387 active cases in the last 24 hours, the Union health ministry confirmed on Wednesday.
The number of coronavirus cases in the country are 83,004, while 64,425 people have been recovered and one patient has migrated, the ministry confirmed.
“Thus, recovery percentage is around 42.45 per cent so far,” a senior health ministry official said.
There have been 170 deaths reported since Tuesday morning, out of which 97 were in Maharashtra, 27 in Gujarat, 12 in Delhi, 9 in Tamil Nadu, 5 each in Madhya Pradesh, West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh and, 3 in Rajasthan and 1 each in Jammu and Kashmir, Uttarakhand, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Chandigarh, Haryana, and Kerala.
Of the total 4,337 deaths, Maharashtra tops the chart with 1,792 deaths.
