The Sharjah Charity Association (SCA) has already raised Dh185,000 which will be used to pay education fees of the needy and feed the hungry.
About 36 commercial outlets in Sharjah have signed up for a unique charity drive that sees them donate Dh1 per every bill generated.

Thanks to the drive, the Sharjah Charity Association (SCA) has already raised Dh185,000 which will be used to pay education fees of the needy and feed the hungry.

Funds raised from the ‘Together to make them happy’ drive will also be used to pay medical bills, help residents in distress, build mosques and facilitate Haj and Umrah pilgrimages for the lesser fortunate.

Addressing a remote Press conference on Sunday, Saeed Ghanem Al Suwaidi, a member of the SCA board, said the charity association is “making every effort to develop its resources and make the most of the capabilities available”.

So far, eateries, and garment and furniture shops have signed up for the drive. “The SCA aims to promote cooperation so that society comes together for charity. We are seeking to make humanitarian work a public culture here.”
