Doha: A 50 percent reduction in fines for traffic violations in Qatar came into effect from today. The Ministry of Home Affairs had earlier announced that the traffic fine waiver will come into effect from June 1.
This benefit is valid from June 1 to August 31. The Home Ministry has informed that the exemption is applicable to all types of motor vehicles. Expatriate residents of the country, visitors and citizens of Gulf Cooperation Council countries are all eligible for the exemption. The fine can be paid through Metrash 2, the ministry’s mobile app.
