Dubai announced a ban on e-scooters inside the Metro and Tram from March 1 to ensure safety of passengers. The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) on Thursday (February 29) said that commuters are prohibited from carrying their last-mile transport inside the facilities.

Smart robot trial to detect violations
Aiming to enhance road safety and enforce regulations, Dubai will deploy a smart robot in March to detect violations committed by bicycle and electric scooter users.
On Thursday, RTA unveiled a new AI-powered robot that will be deployed in March to monitor the use of bicycles and electric scooters and identify potential violations.
