Dubai Launches Public Hackathon to Innovate on Web 3.0 Capabilities on November 20

DMCC and Bybit Hackathon Reaches Final Stage with Dubai’s Final Demo Day to Shape the Future of Web 3.0

The annual Web 3.0 Innovation Hackathon, organised in Dubai in collaboration with DMCC’s Crypto Hub, will conclude on November 20 with Bybit Bybit, the world’s second largest cryptocurrency exchange by trading volume. Following the success of its first edition, this year’s Demo Day and Closing Ceremony of the Unlocking the Potential of Web 3.0 competition are significant events, with the Closing Ceremony featuring 15 finalists competing, and the general public is welcome to register to attend in person.

The Unlocking the Potential of Web 3.0 hackathon organised by Bybit and DMCC continues to be the largest hackathon of its kind in the region, with its second edition underway. After weeks of innovation, creativity and competition between bright ideas, the Demo Day will be packed with outstanding blockchain innovations. Attendees will have the opportunity to enjoy a day of innovation, creativity and fun, while learning in-depth information about Web 3.0 and engaging discussions on its technologies.

Fifteen projects will present their innovative ideas and ambitious vision for Web 3.0 to a panel of expert judges from DMCC’s Crypto Hub, DWF Labs, Hacken, the Blockchain Alliance for Good, CVVC, 1inch and Bybit. The organizers also dedicated a panel to Future Innovations for what comes after Web 3.0 with inspiring speakers from CVVC, Hacken, 1inch, DWF Labs, and Bybit.

A host of cryptocurrency minds, global investors, technology experts and blockchain changemakers will gather for the Demo Day and Closing Ceremony. This event is not only an opportunity to connect with like-minded people, but also to witness history being made as the 15 finalists seek to shape the future of Web 3.0 in the MENA region and beyond.

Supporting Web 3.0 Innovations in the Middle East and North Africa

The DMCC and Bybit Hackathon promises to unleash the power of Blockchain and Web 3.0 technologies to find effective solutions to real-life problems. From coding and security technologies to AI applications, the projects competing in the competition demonstrated high potential and revealed the exceptional capabilities of Web 3.0 innovations in the region.

We initially planned to showcase the top 10 projects on Demo Day, but the strength of the innovations demonstrated by the competitors led us to increase this number by 50%. Together with DMCC, we are proud to see these bright talents and brilliant minds from the MENA region, and support their efforts to enrich Dubai’s thriving blockchain ecosystem,” said Helen Liu, COO of Bybit.

The fifteen project teams’ ideas range from using blockchain technology to manage, document and distribute charitable donations to enhancing security, and cover key aspects vital to establishing and shaping the future of blockchain systems.

With a total prize pool of over 160,500 USDT , the Unlocking the Potential of Web 3.0 competition goes beyond the cash prizes, as winners will gain access to exclusive accelerator programs, security audits, and valuable industry mentorship. Finalists will pitch the best ideas in the industry in person and online to over 33,000 viewers worldwide.

In August of this year, Bybit and the Dubai Multi Commodities Centre announced that Strengthening their strategic partnership To establish Dubai as the world’s capital of Web 3.0. The annual hackathon is part of targeted initiatives to support the blockchain sector and stimulate the pace of innovation in the region.
