Emirates Company launches electric car charging stations

A joint project called “Emirates Electric Vehicle Charging Stations” (UAEV) was launched by the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure and the Union Water and Electricity Company.

Yesterday, a company for electric vehicle charging stations was launched in the Emirates by the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure and the Union Water and Electricity Company, on the sidelines of the Electric Vehicles Exhibition and Conference, which is a pioneering joint project under the name “Emirates Electric Vehicle Charging Stations Company” (UAEV), which It aims to provide a fast and advanced infrastructure for electric vehicles throughout the UAE, according to the agency Emirati news.

Information about the Emirates Electric Vehicle Charging Stations Company:

  • There are more than 40,000 electric cars currently registered in the local market .
  • The new company will launch approximately 100 charging stations during the current year.
  • Electric and hybrid vehicles currently constitute 3% of the total vehicles in the UAE.
  • A unified local tariff for electric vehicle charging prices will be launched in the UAE soon.
  • 914 charging stations are currently distributed mostly between the emirates of Dubai, Abu Dhabi and the Northern Emirates.
  • Electric vehicle sales in 2023 reached 13% of total car sales in the country.
  • The first charging network for electric vehicles at the national level, fully owned by the UAE government.
  • More details about UAEV and its future plans will be revealed before the end of this year.
