Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Saturday reiterated the resolve to continue working towards the establishment of an independent, sovereign and unified Palestinian state, with East Jerusalem as its capital within the borders covered under 1967.

In a video message at the 23rd annual conference of the Muslim American Society, Erdogan stated: “Turks must protect the rights of Jerusalem, even for this they should not care about their lives.” Stating that it is “an honor for the Islamic nation”.

He said, “We work through all the forums to defend the issue of Jerusalem. We are working with all our strength to end the occupation policies, injustice and “genocide” against our Palestinian brothers. ”

The President called on the Islamic world to put aside its vote of views and unite in the face of attacks by Islamic sanctions.
