First Woman Lieutenant General Nigar Johar in Pakistan, holds the post of Surgeon in the Army

    She is the third female officer to reach the rank of Major General in 2017. Johar’s family background is linked to the army. Both his father and uncle were in the Army. She is the niece of Major (R) Mohammad Aamir, a former Pakistan Army officer. He has also served in Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI). His father, Colonel Qadir, also served in the ISI.

    In a 2015 video, she appeared in Pakistan’s armed forces honoring women. During this time she is seen saying that ‘Pakistan is my country and I was born here. I grew up here and I feel that there can be no match with Pakistan anywhere in the world.

    His education started from Rawalpindi. She passed class XII examination in 1978 from Convent Girls High School, Rawalpindi. In 1985, he graduated from the Army Medical College. She is a 5th batch student of Army Medical College. She also served as the female company commander of the Ayesha Company in the same college.




    He passed the examination in 2010 for membership of the College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan. In 2012 he completed a diploma from the Armed Forces Post Graduate Medical Institute and in 2015 from the Advance Medical Administration; He holds a Master of Public Health degree from the same institute.
