German Lufthansa suspends flights to the Middle East until August 21

Lufthansa said affected passengers could rebook or cancel their flights free of charge, adding that it regretted the inconvenience caused “due to the current situation.”

German airline Lufthansa announced on Monday that it will extend the suspension of its flights to the Middle East until August 21 due to the current situation in the region.

The German airline is offering affected passengers the option to rebook or cancel their flights at no additional cost.

The German airline initially suspended flights to the region until August 12.

Also on Monday, Air France and its subsidiary Transavia France once again extended their suspension of flights to Beirut, until Wednesday, August 14.

Air France said in a statement that flights have been suspended since July 29, and that their resumption “will be subject to a new assessment of the situation on the ground.”

Other airlines have also recently adjusted their flight schedules in the region.
